The cliffs over the winter have been battered and ripped apart by the huge storms that occurred. On the east beach at Lyme Regis a large WW2 reinforced concrete base that was brought down to the beach years ago has been smashed to pieces. Large areas of sand seem to have been washed away and the cliffs look on verge of having another large fall….but when.
The beach to the east of Charmouth has also had considerable mud falls and there seems to be quite a few fossils on the beach but you do have to careful with tide or risk being cut off.
